welcomes Todd A. Hanks!
Todd A. Hanks was
appointed Delaware County Auditor in March of 2003 to fill the unexpired
term of David A. Yost. He brings nearly two decades of experience to the
auditor’s office with an extensive background in government service and
finance.
A resident of Delaware County, Todd was born in Cleveland, Ohio and attended
public schools in Franklin County. He graduated with a BS in Business
Management and an Associates Degree in Marketing from Northwood University
in 1991. Upon his graduation, he worked in the private sector specializing
in finance. In 2000, Todd completed his MBA in Business Administration. He
then began the process of applying his education to the improvement of both
financial as well as managerial sectors in which he was associated.
In 2001, Todd was elected to an At-Large position on the Delaware City
Council where he rose to the position of Vice-Mayor before accepting the
position of Auditor. While serving on City Council, Todd served on several
committees including: Finance Committee, Airport Committee, Planning
Committee, BZA Committee and Delaware County Comprehensive Planning
Committee. In addition to these committees and boards, Todd volunteers with
such entities as: Easter Seals, Children's Hospital, Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation , Delaware Creative Housing, Action for Children, United
Way, March of Dimes, Delaware County Farm Bureau and the Veteran's
Administration. Todd also serves on the following Boards: Action for
Children and Delaware Creative Housing. Member of Hiram Masonic Lodge.
Member of the National Rifle Association.
In 2002, Todd accepted the position of Deputy Auditor with former Delaware
County Auditor David A. Yost. Todd obtained a certificate in Arc View GIS
Administration in 2002 as well as Budget Forecasting in 2006. Todd currently
serves on the following committees of the County Auditor’s Association of
Ohio: Legislative Committee, Electronic Commerce Committee, Agriculture
Committee, Board of Revision / Board of Tax Appeals Committee, Effective
Property Taxation for Senior Citizens Committee and was the 2004 SEOAA
Treasurer / Secretary and the 2005 SEOAA President. Building Industry
Association 2007 Outstanding Citizen Award.
