AIABG Welcomes Newly Appointed Columbus City Council Member - Andrew Ginther!

JThe Asian Indian American Business Group welcomes newly appointed Columbus Cit Council Member Andrew J. Ginther. Mr. Ginther has always believed that community service is the key to stronger neighborhoods. Columbus Mayor - Michael Coleman issued this statement about Ginther on his appointments.

Andy Ginther and Priscilla Tyson are excellent picks for City Council and will be great representatives for the residents of Columbus, said Mayor Coleman. As a school board member, Ginther worked with me as the City built miles of new sidewalks to keep kids safe on the way to school, and he understands how we need to build partnerships between parents in neighborhoods, City Hall and schools."

Ginther has been actively involved with the American Cancer Society's Grassroots Mobilization Team and the central Ohio chapter of the NAACP. He is a former member of the city of Columbus Department of Public Safety Advisory Board and the Ohio Tech Corps Steering Committee.

Ginther was elected to the Columbus Board of Education in 2001 and re-elected in 2005. On Council, Council Member Ginther chairs the Safety Committee, and is a member of the Utilities, Judiciary, Recreation and Parks, and Zoning Committees.

Andrew Ginther is a proud graduate of Columbus Public Schools and native of Columbus. Andrew and his wife, Shannon, reside in Clintonville.
