Jay Goyal is currently Vice President of Goyal Industries' a manufacturing firm that specializes in
products for the mass transit and passenger rail car industry nationwide. Goyal is responsible for personnel management, routinely
directs many key functions of the business, coordinates the negotiation, purchasing, production, and installation phases of
various projects and has expanded the company's market share to Boston, New York, and Chicago.
Goyal is a member of the American Railroad Engineering and Maintenance Association and belongs to the Institute for Electrical
and Electronic Engineers Committee on Railroad Electrification where he is a working group chair.
Goyal sits on the Board of Directors for the Rehabilitation Center of North Central Ohio, Junior Achievement of North Central
Ohio, and the University and College Access Network. He serves on the United Way's Allocations and Community Relations Committees,
the Richland County Citizens' Vision Board, and Progress Industries Business Advisory Board. He is also active with the Mansfield
Indian Association, the Ohio Marwari Association and the Mansfield-Richland Chamber of Commerce.
Goyal is Chairman of the Richland County Democrat Party's Membership Enhancement Committee, Co-founder of the Ohio Heartland Young
Democrats, and served as the County Director for the Kerry for President Campaign. Additionally, he was named the Richland County
2004 Democrat of the Year.
Goyal attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering with a
concentration in Business Management. He was active in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, serving as Vice President,
the Undergraduate Leadership Program, the Budget Committee, where he was the Chairman, and the South Asian Student Alliance,
participating in many cultural events. Goyal also served on a review board with the Executive Vice President of Yale University
and the Vice President of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that evaluated Northwestern's Office of the Senior Vice President
of Business and Finance. Goyal interned at General Motors Corporation and the National Cooperative Business Association. Additionally,
Goyal has passed the United States State Department's Foreign Service Written Exam.
Jay Goyal was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio and graduated from Lexington High School where he was elected class president for four
years. His father, Prakash, is the founder and President of Goyal Industries. His mother, Kiran, is an investment advisor with KeyBank
and McDonald's Investments. His sister, Anjali, lives in New York and works at a non-profit that promotes Asian-American literature.
