AIABG and it's members welcome Michael Rankin, Registrar of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles!

Appointed March 2007, Registrar Rankin serves as 2007 Registrar of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. A well respected attorney with nearlky 30 years experience working with a wide range of public, utility and private sector clients, Rankin has served as Cheif DEputy Clerk of Franklin County Municipal Court.

Additionally, he has served as senior counsel for major public utility American Electric Power, Columbus, a former assistant county prosecutor, sherrif's legal counsel, and police academy instructor. In 2001, Rankin co-founded the Mid-Ohio Amber Alert Board and later served as a member of the Governor's State Amber Alert Task Force.

He is a past-chairman and current member of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commision. In 2002, he chaired an Ohio Department of Transportation advisory panel to study and identify cost-effective traffic engineering solutions for reducing congestion along the I70/I71 area of Downtown Columbus, Ohio.

Rankin is a gradute of The Ohio State University and University of Toledo College of Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and Columbus BAr Association.

The Ohio BMV is a division of The Ohio Department of Public Safety, which includes The Ohio Emergency Management Agency, Ohio Emergency Medical Services, The Ohio Homeland Security Division, The Ohio Investigative Unit, and The Ohio State Highway Partrol.
